Atticatten

Its said that a Greater Being had come across a severed tail, that once had adorned a brother or sister. Curiosity peaked in his heart. He picked it up and carried it with him. One evening while the rouge Greater Being was hunting, a large wolf attacked him. Managing to slay the creature after it wounded him, the Greater Being laid down to rest. The next morning when the sun poured in through the trees canopy above, the Greater Being awoke to a gentle caress on his cheek. Startled, he bolted upright holding his make-shift spear in front of him. Fear quickly gave way to shock as the tail he had tucked into his belt now had a body attached to it. The creature before him was a beautiful, cat-like woman. Her long, slender arms and body were smooth and pleasant to look upon. Her wide almond-shaped eyes had slits like a domesticated cat. Long brown hair flowed down her back in waves. Naked and shivering, the Greater Being stood and removed his tattered cloak and wrapped it around the slender woman. Curious, the Greater Being spent the rest of the day finding more tails. The new creature followed him tirelessly. Several nights later, after finding a small pile of tails, the Greater Being introduced himself to the woman. His name was Attin Yente. He named the slender woman Phoenix Attincatten, meaning the birth of cat people. During that night, Attin Yente pricked his finger on the spearhead and dripped blood onto each of the tails he had spread around the campfire. With great vigilance, he spent the night watching and waiting for the tails to spring to life. Wearily, he slipped off into a slumber early the next morning. Later the next night, Phoenix woke him gently and pointed to the tails. Each one had grown into a man or woman. Happily, he rose and danced merrily with Phoenix. He had created what is now known as the Atticatten race, or the Elder race.
