Along the northeastern edge of the Half-Moon bay, is a coarse sand beach, formed thousands of years ago. Even though the weather is not often conducive to sitting on a beach and getting a tan, the recreational area is usually always full of people looking to escape the busy streets. Children of all types usually spend the day at the beach, well into the evening when bonfires can be seen springing up along it.
