Xonthian is a diverse and historically rich world, characterized by a variety of landscapes and civilizations. The central hub, Xonthian City, is a bustling metropolis where humans thrive amidst fertile outskirts adorned with abundant crops and farms. To the southwest lies the secluded island of Juan’kij, home to reclusive elves who reside within the lush forests of Timilik.

Towards the north, the Dwarves peacefully inhabit the Shadow Mountains, crafting their lives in harmony with the rugged terrain. On the easternmost peninsula of Xecutran, the elusive Atticatten have found refuge, maintaining a hidden existence. The world is not without its shadows, as Orcs, Ogres, and other darker races inhabit long-forgotten jungles, mysterious swamps, and the remnants of lost civilizations, concealing their presence from the more populated regions.

Cliff Side Pier

Once a sheer cliff, the original settlers in Cettera decided that instead of taking the stone for the castle from miles away, they used the cliffs, and chipped away large blocks down in a zig-zag pattern to the water’s edge. A large man-made barrier protects the pier, creating an artificial bay.

Cliff Side Pier, or Cettera Docks, are large enough, that warehouses were built on them, and extend out into the water. The docks are home to a tavern, where sailers spend their days waiting for orders or work. Hidden in the warehouses that line the docks is the home of the Anarchs Cettera branch.

Cettera Slums

Like Xonthian City, Xecutran has its share of unemployed, or those unable to afford to live in a home or apartments around the city square. Tents, lean-to’s, hovels decorate the rocky path between two hills. Seen as a blight by many in Cettera, the Slums are often raided by the guard, in hopes to scatter those living there. Because of those raids, the Anarchs have found a more secure location to call home, so are unable to keep the peace in the Cettera Slums, like they do in their sister city.

Cettera

The capital of Xecutran sits on a cliff overlooking the Straights of Irga. The grey-blue water of the Straights is the main lifeline of the city to Xonthian City to the south and the rest of the world. The city of Cettera is large and well-defended with arguably the widest range of inhabitants ranging from Atticatten, Elves and Dwarves. This trading hub oversees goods from all over Xecutran, and without it, the country itself would fall in disarray.

Comprised of the largest continent on Xonthian, Xecutran runs along the northern edge of the world with a deep, diverse climate unique to the rest of the planet. From jungles, and thick forests of the east, to the plains along the west, to the sands of the Bone Desert on the southwestern peninsula. Xecutran is home to four different ruling factions, the Dwarves who have hidden away under the Shadow Mountains directly north of Cettera, to the Atticatten on the southeastern peninsula, and the humans, living along the Strait of Irga in Cettera and the mysterious and forgotten Coatlin, living under the Serpent Spine Mountains.

Xecutran is home to some of the world’s oldest structures, built long ago by the Dwarves of Shadow Mountain. Ruins long-forgotten lay unexplored on the eastern slopes of the mountain. The Dragons also claim the mountains to be home and have roosted there, undisturbed for millennia.

The forests around Jeef are heavy with snow, caused by the consistent cold pouring in from the north. The area west of the Shadow Mountains, is in a constant flux of darkness ranging from overcast cloudy days, to deep darkness during winter months, even during the day. The shadows are cast by a phenomenon surrounding the Shadow Mountains and have no natural reason for occurring. Some theorize it is because of the Dragons who call the mountain range home. Others claim it has always been this way, even before the world shattered.   Rain and colder weather run all along the northern shores of Xecutran, and other then the two peninsula’s, the rest of Xecutran tend to be colder and rainy.

Shadow City

Home of the Shadow Elves, who have lived among the naturally hollowed-out caves below the island. Saltwater mixes with lava, creating glass-like structures in huge caverns. Shadow City is built into one of these natural caverns. The elves themselves have adapted to the inhospitable terrains, where they have cultivated mushrooms and other light-sensitive flora. Fish too are an important part of their diet. Trade is nearly non-existent on the island, whatever they do trade, is usually with the trolls and orcs that live in the forests surrounding the mountain. The elves live a simple life, and tend to only venture out of their shadowy home in search of glory or to take on a job.

Forest of Night

The Forest of Night takes up a majority of the Shadow Islands. They are mostly inhabited by Trolls, and Shadow Elves, with a few Orc Tribes, scattered on the southern end. The densely packed forest hides the earth below in darkness that always seems like it’s about to break and let daylight in. But it never does. Since it was once part of Xecutran before the world shattered, there are scattered redwood trees that reach into the sky, with smaller conifer trees taking up residence around them. The forest is also rich with dire wolves. Some of the more cunning trolls have tamed them, and use them in war.
